CPA, CS David JO Nyakang’o

Mr. Nyakang’o is a Senior Partner of Olmara Registrars LLP, Certified Public Secretaries. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Cumbria, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Accounting Option, from University of Nairobi.

Mr. Nyakang’o is a qualified accountant and member in good standing with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPSK). He is also a qualified company secretary and member in good standing with the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya. Additionally he is a Corporate Governance Auditor accredited by the ICPSK.

Mr. Nyakang’o has a career span of close to four decades within which he has gained valuable experience in audit, accounting, tax, financial management and company secretarial practice. He gained valuable commercial and management experience in the Tea and Sugar sectors of the Kenyan economy where he previously held senior positions.

In leadership, he has served as director in various boards including Rural Electrification Authority (2007), Jamii Bora Bank Limited (2010 - 2012), Mitun Security Services Limited (2010 to date), Olmara Registrars Limited (2000 to date), Muchekehu Consulting Limited (2000 - 2015), Metropol Corporation Limited (2015 to date), Metropol Credit Reference Bureau Limited (2015 to date), Metropol Credit Reference Bureau (Uganda) Limited (2015 to date). At the Metropol group of companies, Mr. Nyakang’o is Chairman of the Audit, IT and Risk Committee of the group. He is also the Managing Partner at MDN Kenya, Certified Public Accountants

In society, Mr. Nyakang’o actively engages and identifies with the communities he lives in. He has served as member of the Board of Governors of various schools in Nyamira County where he grew up, as Honorary Treasurer of Kisumu Yatch Club (1994-1999) and Invergara Club Nairobi (2009 - 2015). Mr. Nyakang’o is an avid golfer, who has served in golf administration, in various capacities at club level culminating in national golf leadership at the Kenya Golf Union where he was Honorary Treasurer (2005-2007), Vice Chairman (2007 - 2008), and Chairman (2008-2009). He also served as the President of the East African Golf Federation (2008 - 2017) presiding over golf development in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia.
